The Crow (1994)
A poetic guitarist Eric Draven is brought back to life by a crow a year after he and his fianc?e are murdered. The crow guides him through the land of the living, and leads him to his killers: knife thrower Tin-tin, drugetic Funboy, car buff T-Bird, and the unsophisticated Skank. One by one, Eric gives these thugs a taste of their own medicine. However their leader Top-Dollar, a world-class crime lord who will dispatch his enemies with a Japanese sword and joke about it later, will soon learn the legend of the crow and the secret to the vigilante's invincibility.
It Can't Rain All The Time.
Sarah: [voiceover] People once believed that when someone dies, a crow carries their soul to the land of the dead. But sometimes, something so bad happens that a terrible sadness is carried with it and the soul can't rest. Then sometimes, just sometimes, the crow can bring that soul back to put the wrong things right.

In his Blu-ray commentary, Alex Proyas said that Brandon Lee was unhappy with the way his face paint looked when the makeup department applied it to him before shooting. Lee and Proyas then agreed that it would look best if Lee applied his own makeup every night before going to bed so that when he woke up his face paint would naturally look more worn out.
According to James O'Barr, he didn't like casting Brandon Lee as the main lead for his comic-book adaptation. At that time he had only seen him in Showdown in Little Tokyo (1991) and feared it would end up like a Kung Fu movie and go straight to video. But he was thrilled when he first met Brandon on the set with the makeup and Crow outfit. He was amazed by Brandon's take on the character when he spoke the exact lines from the comics.
Although he was not at fault for the death of Brandon Lee, Michael Massee stopped acting for a year because he was so traumatized by the incident. (His next film was a small role in Se7en (1995).) Up until his death in 2016, he had never watched the film.
The "For Brandon and Eliza" dedication at the start of the end credits was for Brandon Lee, who was accidentally killed in the production of this movie, and his fianc? Eliza Hutton who supported Alex Proyas' decision to complete the movie.
In 2005, 12 years after the accidental shooting of Brandon Lee, Michael Massee (who fired the gun) claimed to still have nightmares of the incident.
Continuity
(at around 43 mins) When Gideon is drinking at the bar he unscrews the cap of his bottle completely, then Grange comes up behind him and unscrews it again before pouring him a drink.
(at around 55 mins) During the police pursuit, in aerial shots, the police car has strobe lights and in the ground shots it has rotating lights.
(at around 43 mins) Level of drink in Gideon's glass.
(at around 1h 1 min) When the detective and the cop are arguing about the discovery of a man melted to his blown up car, right after Draven sends the burning car into the river, the detective's shoulder holster changes from brown to black-strapped halfway through the scene.
During the office shoot-out with Top Dollar and his cronies, Eric uses 2 6 shot revolvers and doesn't reload either of them despite firing over 20 rounds.
Factual errors
(at around 1h 29 mins) Shelly is shown being defibrillated while fully-clothed. Defibrillators are used only on bare skin.
The subtitle in the opening reads "Devils Night" (sic) plural. It should read "Devil's Night," possessive.
When Eric forces T-Bird to drive, the speedometer exceeds 90mph. Such a speed would be impossible in those cluttered streets and narrow back alleys. Indeed, in all external shots, the cars seem to be travelling half that speed at most.
Incorrectly regarded as goofs
After Eric is resurrected and goes back to his former apartment, his cat is still wandering around in the building, even though no one is looking after this cat since he died a year ago. However, the apartment ended up being completely abandoned since Eric and Shelly's murders, and thus prone to infestations due to a lack of maintenance. Because cats are natural scavengers, it is possible that the animal had been living on a diet of vermin in the last year.
After Eric wakes from his grave and goes back to his former apartment, the apartment is still considered a crime scene even though a year has passed since he died and the living room is left untouched. It might be unrealistic that abandoned housing would be left unused in cities in that time, but it's not unlikely that there was trouble finding prospective tenants who wanted to move into an apartment where literal murders took place, especially since the criminals were still at large.
Revealing mistakes
(at around 1h 7 mins) At the hot dog stand when Sarah and Albrecht are talking about seeing Eric, the cat, Gabriel, is clearly being restrained.
Audio/visual unsynchronized
(at around 1h 30 mins) When the crow drops the ring in Sarah's hand you hear the sound of the ring hitting something hard.
(at around 10 mins) When Eric Draven returns home for the first time after his resurrection the camera pans past the crow. When the crow is out of the frame we hear the sound of its wings fluttering even though the shadow shows the bird is still.
(at around 6 mins) When Sarah takes the first sip of her drink at Maxi's, it sounds empty.
Crew or equipment visible
(at around 1h 27 mins) There is a cable visible just to the right of the bell rope as Myca falls down the tower.
Black cable visible on guy Eric kicks out of a chair and through a window.
(at around 1h 2 mins) When the girl walks up from the street to the door of Eric's apartment, dolly-tracks are clearly visible in the full-frame version.
Plot holes
At the pawn shop, Eric is in search for his engagement ring. It seems the pawn shop owner still has it, even though a year has passed. Even other rings from other victims of the gang. It makes no sense for a pawn shop owner to retain these valuables, since it is his business to sell them as quick as possible with a profitable margin.
Character error
At the start of the movie the police is inspecting the crime scene where the main character and his finance were murdered. The police officer can be seen smoking a cigarette in the room where the crime was committed and actually putting the cigarette out on the floor, while his colleagues and forensics are still investigating. This would be considered contaminating the crime scene.
(at around 6 mins) At the beginning of the movie, a guy comments on Lake Erie catching fire. In reality, it was the Cuyahoga River that caught fire, but since it empties into Lake Erie, the reference is understandable.
(Around 48 mins) Sgt. Albrecht (Ernie Hudson) tells The Crow/Eric Draven (Brandon Lee) "I'm sorry as hell for what happened to you and your girlfriend." At the beginning of the film it is shown that Albrecht finds an invitation that said Eric and Shelly were to be married the night following their murder. That would make Shelly Eric's fianc?, not his girlfriend.
