The tenth movie in which siblings John Cusack and Joan Cusack appeared together.

The cast considered this movie to be an unofficial sequel to Grosse Pointe Blank (1997). Five actors appeared in both films: John Cusack, Joan Cusack, Bill Cusack, Dan Aykroyd, and Doug Dearth.

The corporation, Tamerlane, refers to Timur, known in the West as Tamerlane. Timur conquered a great deal of central and western Asia in the 14th Century and founded the Timurid Empire and Timurid dynasty.

The character names Ooq-Mi-Fay and Ooq-Yu-Fay, loosely translated from Pig Latin, are "f

k me" and "f

k you".

The An-12B airplane shown at the beginning and end of the movie is owned and operated by Bright Aviation Services, based in Sofia, Bulgaria. Along with some other Bulgarian freight carriers, they are banned from operating in Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, and the European Union countries because of their safety record.

Continuity

When Brand Hauser exits the building-ruins after rescuing Natalie Hegalhuzen you can clearly see him putting away one of the two pistols, namely his right one, and waving with his left arm. The very next shot shows him putting away both pistols, his right, then his left.

As Omar leaves the restaurant wearing his glasses, the camera pans back to the dinner table where his glasses can still be seen.

When Bhodi Bhundhang's gang of thugs attack in the castle during the interview, one of the thugs holding an AK-47 loses his hat when attacked, but in the next scene his hat is back on his head, right before he is thrown in a table.

When Hauser is ambushed in the castle, we hear the sound of a gun being cocked. The camera pans to a thug holding an uncocked revolver.

As Natalie leaves Hauser's office the door is open, presumably to allow the camera to get the shot of her leaving. However, Houser shut it only moments earlier after he asked Marsha to call him.

Factual errors

Hauser has his dry cleaning delivered from "Laundry Unit Ramstein" in Germany. The German town - and the name of the real-life Air Force base - is spelled "Ramstein".

Revealing mistakes

When Brand and Natalie go to the coffee shop, on the floor you can see the blue-tape 'T' marker that shows the waitress where she needs to stand for this shot.

(at around 1 min) The American Flag hanging behind Joan Cusack when she is talking is hanging on the wrong side.
