George Strait (who stars in the first Pure Country) does not reprise his role, but stars as himself.

A sequel to Pure Country (1992) had been planned with George Strait Lesley Ann Warren and Isabel Glaser reprising their roles from the first movie. It was to be released about two or three years after the original, but because the first film fared so poorly with audiences, the plans for a sequel that continued the original's story were eventually scrapped, so director Christopher Cain decided to do an in-name sequel instead.

Sharon Thomas Cain reprises her role as Monique James from the first Pure Country (1992).

The website Movie Insider credits this movie as "A Pure Country Gift," and has been incorrectly credited as an unreleased movie since the profile was created on the website.

Anachronisms

During the flashback in the beginning of the movie, it shows Bobbie when she was a young girl in the 1990s. In some scenes, there are post 2000 cars like a 2005- Nissan Frontier and a 2000-2007 Dodge Caravan in parking lots and also driving down the highway.
