Fools Rush In (1997)
Two relative strangers try to turn a one night stand into a marriage in this romantic comedy. Alex Whitman (Matthew Perry) is a designer from New York City who is sent to Las Vegas to supervise the construction of a nightclub that his firm has been hired to build. Alex is a straight-laced WASP-ish type who, while enjoying a night on the town, meets Isabel Fuentes (Salma Hayek), a free-spirited Mexican-American photographer. Alex and Isabel are overtaken by lust at first sight and end up spending the night together; however, their immediate attraction doesn't last in the cold light of day, and they don't see each other for another three months. When they do meet again, it's because Isabel has some interesting news for Alex: she's pregnant with his child. Alex and Isabel decide that they should do the right thing and quickly get married (with an Elvis impersonator serving as witness), but after Isabel meets Alex's mom (Jill Clayburgh), and Alex is confronted by Isabel's father (Tomas Milian), both start to wonder if "doing the right thing" was just that, especially as Alex tries to balance his career in New York with Isabel's desire to continue working in Nevada. Fools Rush In gave Matthew Perry his first big-screen starring role following his success on the TV series Friends.

The role of Alex's (Matthew Perry) father is played by John Bennett Perry, who is actually Matthew Perry's father.
Before the movie was filmed, there was no Arizona/Nevada "border" painted on the highway that spans the Hoover Dam. When it was added for the movie, local officials decided to keep it intact after the filming of the movie. As of September 2005 the border painted in the street is no longer there.
The Elvis impersonator in the early wedding scene, Eddie Powers, works in Las Vegas as an Elvis impersonator and does gigs at such chapels as The Silver Bell Wedding Chapel.
Continuity
At the end of the movie when Isabel slams on her brakes on the Hoover Dam, her toenails are not painted. When she is sitting in the ambulance after giving birth, they are painted a dark red.
After Isabel tells Alex she is pregnant he drinks the entire glass of water. When he looks at her he puts the glass of water on the table and it is full.
The wet spot on Alex's shirt disappears when he goes to kiss Isabel.
When Isabel goes to Alex's house to tell him she is pregnant, her hair changes from when she is at the door to when she is in the house.
When Isabel drops Alex off after meeting her family, she pulls her truck in one way and her tires are facing one way. But when she backs up her tires are facing the opposite direction, making it easier for her to back up.
Factual errors
Las Vegas winters are not so hot that Alex would burn his hand on his car.
Incorrectly regarded as goofs
There was no painted border between Nevada and Arizona on Hoover Dam. However, at the suggestion of the filmmakers, the authorities painted one (and kept it).
Revealing mistakes
At the end of the movie, as Alex stands on the dam waiting for Isabel to pass, it begins to rain. It is clearly not raining everywhere in the frame, especially in the lower right corner and in the rear of the frame (most likely because the rain machine didn't reach that far).
Miscellaneous
At the wedding in the last scene, the clergyman is not a Catholic priest--but Isabel's parents had insisted earlier on a Catholic ceremony.
Crew or equipment visible
When Isabel's father arrives at Alex's work site to threaten him with a baseball bat, the scene flashes between the father and Alex. In Alex's sunglasses, the father should be visible, but instead it's two men (crew and sound guy).
In the scene on the boat where Alex's and Isabel's parents are arguing, the camera is clearly visible in Alex's mother's sunglasses, along with at least 10 crew members and the softbox, multiple times.
Character error
When Alex opens the fridge he sees the baby's echo picture, taken 30 January 1995 at 10:39--but the movie was filmed in 1997.
