This short story sets up the heist that is at the beginning of the fourth Fast and Furious film, the one where they hijack the fuel tanker road truck in the Dominican Republic. After hiding out in Mexico, fugitive and ex-convict hijacker Dom is working with his new partners, Tego and Leo, to plan a new hijacking. Dom calls upon the assistance of Han (from the spin-off film Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift). Next they have to break Leo out of prison so he can join their crew. There is a gasoline shortage in the Dominican Republic and they meet with a corrupt politician that is going to make it possible to obtain the gas the town needs. Letty arrives when she finds Dom surrounded by "skanks". Dom leaves with Letty of course. The next day, they take a romantic drive to a remote beach and re-kindle their romance prior to their next job.

The short film was included as a bonus on the Blu-ray and Special Edition DVD releases of Fast & Furious (2009).

Paul Walker and Jordana Brewster were on poster, but he didn't appear in the film.

This short film establishes Han (Sung Kang) as being a friend of Dom (Vin Diesel), which is how he came to be part of the 'family'. It is also technically the first chronological appearance of Han in the series, followed by Fast & Furious (2009), Fast Five (2011), Fast & Furious 6 (2013), The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006), Furious 7 (2015), and F9: The Fast Saga (2021). Unless one counts Better Luck Tomorrow (2002), which is not officially part of the Fast & Furious series, but does feature Kang as Han.

The character of Elvis, played by Juan Fern?ndez, does not appear in any of the feature length Fast & Furious films, despite fans looking for more from Fernandez.
